Order Code: W815 This machine differs from the traditional design of thicknessers because of the helical cutter head that's now standard on this T-13S model. The important advantage of a Helical cutter head is its spiral shearing action with the workpiece. This translates into a much smoother cut with less chipping and tear out of the workpiece, as well as significantly much quieter operation compared to the very loud chopping effect produced by a traditional HSS blade cutter-head. The T-13S is equipped with a helical cutter head that includes 26 HSS inserts which are easily indexed or replaced, just simply use the tool screw key that's provided to unscrew the individual insert to be replaced as there is no fiddly height setting to be carried out. The thickness cutter height is adjusted by a very precise control lever positioned conveniently on top of the machine and is used in conjunction with the measurement scale on the front face for quick easy reference to the timber thickness. There are two other aids to controlling the timber cut thickness on this model; one is a gauge on the front of cutter casting which indicates the depth of cut being taken. The other being a depth stop dial mounted on the lower side of machine with pre-set finish cut heights at 1/8``, 1/4``, 3/8``, 1/2`` thickness. The T-13S is a well built and substantial machine with plenty of power and some useful additional features which will appeal to the more serious user.
